Final Fantasy XVI is an action role-playing game developed and published by Square Enix for PlayStation 5 as an exclusive. At the start of the story, during a time of growing unrest in Valisthea, Clive serves as Joshua's bodyguard, known as the First Shield of Rosaria.

In the battle, a second Eikon of fire, Ifrit causing widespread devastation. The tragedies that follow lead Clive to embark upon a quest of revenge, seeking out Ifrit and their Dominant.
