Final Fortune Ending Speedrun 9:17 (any% 6:32 w/ extra turn meltdown) - Maniac Mansion (NES)
Mainly experimenting with some of the new strats @sathdreshamarth8401 , @ShesChardcore , and @ness7or9 figured out. Clearly didn't get it right this time. This run isn't even up to my PB, but the main deal here is the Final Fortune ending. It seems like you got a better chance if you Use Weird Edsel/Modified Rocket Engine with Yellow Key and not the other way around. More reaction time for the menu. After the extra turn kicks in I stop skipping cutscenes, partly to make sure I don't mess it up, but mainly for the full comic effect. How often am I gonna hear the doorbell during the You Won The Game screen anyway? If this turns into a real speedrun category we'll see what it boils down to.
Following normal any% clock rules comes out to 6:32 for that part. With the Final Fortune ending, I'm calling the clock stop at the menu items disappearing after hitting the Red Button, coming out to a 9:17 extended total run time.
End result: Meltdown.
