Final Sin (Doom Eternal) 100% in 4:55 (Segmented, Tool Assisted, Unrestricted, Nightmare)
This is a tool assisted run. This mainly involves three things:
- It's segmented. The run was recorded in small bits and stitched together.
- I play with a slowed down game most of the time, and then speed it up. This enables me to be a lot more precise with movement and combat. This is why there is no sound (it gets broken).
- I use macros to assist me with certain things.
This run definitely isn't about competing with actual speedruns. I wouldn't suggest regarding it either as "the best that can be done". The run is definitely suboptimal, there are obvious places with room for improvement. It still has a human element and some decisions are arguable. There are also routing choices that are arguably outdated after the run was produced (slightly better options exist).
Instead, I suggest you look at it as a "movie", showing some cool tricks and routing and a lot of luck. It shows a (pretty accurate) likeness of what can be done, but not exactly that.
While I've tried to reduce these to a minimum, some things in this run could not be reproduced in a "real" run. For example, I believe the speed at which the menuing is performed is impossible without the slowed down game. There are other (small) things.
