Hot take: I've beaten the main game, I wish Final Transmission was reserved for Callisto Protocol 2 or something but for right now, this is definitely a spiritual successor to Dead Space. However, instead of making the same or similar game all over again. Callisto Protocol carries the mantle of having the most immersive horror experience that Dead Space and Resident Evil have held for the longest time. This is not *better* than those games, but it stands on the same pedestal as them. Callisto Protocol plays something like a 50/50 blend of The Last of Us and Resident Evil where it not only COMBINES the survival aspect of TLOU and grotesque horror that is Resident Evil, it stands out as a true horror game that closely resembles Dead Space in the fact that, no matter where you are, or how good you're doing, the next corner is forever unpredictable and you're in a CONSTANT state of anxiety. This game keeps me on the edge of my seat every single time. Does it do the same for you?
