Find the hidden Oculus Mirror menu! - Quest and Rift
An idiot's guide to Oculus Mirror's "hidden" menu. This allows you to use Image Stabilization and increase the FOV captured in your recordings.
It took me an embarrassingly long amount of time to work this out for myself. I reinstalled Oculus Home, tried to find replacement Oculus Mirror files on the Internet, and even enabled the Public Beta branch. None of that worked. But a random mis-click saved my day today, so I felt compelled to save someone else's, too.
Another tip is that Alt+Enter will but the screen into borderless full screen mode. OBS Studio users may need to alter their capture configuration to pick it up, though. So, just be aware of that.
Here's a good example of the current Image Stabilization options: https://youtu.be/9jrmGMza694?t=111
Here's an example of what I have been using for Oculus Mirror capture. You put this in the 'Target' field of a shortcut.
"C:\Program Files\Oculus\Support\oculus-diagnostics\OculusMirror.exe" --RightEyeOnly --Size 1920 1080 --FovTanAngleMultiplier 1.1 1.0 --DisableTimewarp --RightEyeOnly --IncludeSystemGui --Fullscreen"
Oh, and fellow "idiots", please don't post your SSN. That's an IQ test.
