Finger Flashing (ふぃんがあ★ふらっしんぐ) - Story Mode Playthrough [No Death Run Attempt]
I hate to say that, clearing the game while doing the challenge is technically impossible, even with TAS.
Based on my observation, speed multiplier could be applied after defeating certain monsters, and there is no speed limit as long as the player survives. In other words, by keep progressing, speed will eventually become uncontrollable. Usually when the game moves at high speed, speed bar will turn gray and speed control buttons (L1 and R1) won't work anymore, meaning it's impossible to even slow down, but beyond that, there is no visual indication anymore aside of the game becomes faster and faster.
Combine this with the fact that under rare occasions, the game could arrange a full blockade on the road. Moreover, multiple consecutive blockades are possible. Normally there will be around two or three destroyable objects; their sprites change depending on the level. But one object requires ten hits to be destroyed. Even with turbo controller, destroying one object still takes time, and in the end, due to the blazing speed, it's impossible to even destroy one before hitting them. The stop spell (triangle button) may resolve the problem by giving you 4-second bonus time to clear the necessary objects on the field, but this spell has cooldown so it can't be cast consecutively. Ultimately, when facing against three full blockades whose destroyable objects are scattered, there is no solution of this except by game over and continue.
After the game over screen, selecting to continue will bring back to the beginning of the last stage, and most likely with the same order of opponents, with the speed reverted back to zero. After clearing some opponents, I experienced the same triple blockades that killed me before, but then thanks to normal speed, it was possible to be cleared. Eventually I could pass the stage and move to the next one, but then I lost my motivation of finishing the remaining rounds. The exact composition of blockades also makes me speculate that the opponents aren't randomly generated between stages but rather at once at the beginning of the round.
