We assume the role of Ethan Winters, a man who's travelled to find his wife Mia in the fictional town of Dulvey, Louisana. He's called here by Mia, who disappeared 3 years earlier and was presumed dead. Upon arrival, he finds an abandonded farmhouse he then decides to search.
From there, things start going down, and in an effort to not spoil anything further, let's just say things aren't exactly as they're supposed to be.

The game is a first person survival horror, set 4 years after the events of Resident Evil 6 (making it 2017, fittingly). Players might get spooked by the new controlscheme (being first person and all), however it controls much like what you'd expect from this series. The same mechanics make their return as well, with Ethan having access to many of the familiar weapons from the earlier series, herbs, medicines and sorted sundries.
The locales visited are strewn with puzzles and keys, mysteries abound and all of the things that previously made the Resident Evil series unique. This promises to be a return to form many of it's fans have desperately wanted, Magnus included.
It remains to be seen if the first person view is a boon or not, however...
