Aside from a useful movement boost at promotion, this chapter is the main reason why I want to level Leaf as much as possible. He has to face his father. ALONE! An invisible barrier keeps even pegasus knights out of the arena. :(

I level up and stat up Leaf a few times to make him up for the challenge. His 10 power sword obtained in chapter 3 does not really cut it anymore, so he switches to a devil lance. (20 strength, 70% accuracy, slight defense penalty) This makes Leaf's attack power high enough to do decent damage to Cuan, but at the expense of accuracy and defense. His inventory is loaded with "super vulneraries" that heal 30 HP and a +8 defense shield to help him hold on at the end of the duel. Victory is sweet; Leaf receives an incredible 140 accuracy, 20 power, +4 defense, +5 resistance, and +30 avoid sword for winning. Not too shabby!
