Chapter 24: Hinoka
Difficulty: Hard/Casual
Chapter starts at 10:50 and 16:18
We surpassed the Great Wall… now we enter the capital of Hoshido and things only make us sicker than ever. Regardless we need to press on. We get orders to invade the capital while dirtbag Iago and his squad tries to reach it through the North. Unfortunately this is where we have to contend with Hinoka and her retainers Azama and Setsuna.
This map can either be interesting or frustrating depending on how you go about it. The objective is to Seize by the way. Whatever you do, DO NOT bring any flier-units to this map because there are Kinshi Knights and they will shoot your units down fast. Instead bring in units that carry high Strength, Speed, Defense and Resistance as many of the units you’ll encounter consist of Oni Chieftains, Onmyojis, Falcon Knights and Kinshi Knights. The main gimmick in this map centers on the Dragon Veins. Depending on who activates it, it can completely change the battlefield and yes… this affects ALL units. Should Hinoka activate the vein, it’ll cause all fliers to gain a massive movement boost while slowing down ground forces. Should we activate the vein, the reverse occurs. Bear this in mind should you choose to tread this map.
Split your forces into two groups with one going west, the other north. Bring healers in case things get messy. Beware of Azama since he has a Hexing Rod and if any unit gets hit by that their max HP is halved. This can be bad cause enemy units can take advantage of this and wipe them out. Why do you think Kaze ended up going down by that huh? If you are high leveled and packing strong units, you should be fine. Beware however as Hinoka and her retainers don’t play around. They play for keeps. Hinoka is especially dangerous since she’s in Guard Stance with an Oni Chieftain and packing Rallying Cry, Sol, Luna, Darting Blow and Winged Terrain. Winged Terrain means archers won’t pick her off easily. Fortunately you can weaken her with other units but be wary since Hinoka can take you out if you choose to be careless.
With Hinoka and her retainers defeated, next stop the throne… and we take on Ryoma. For better or worse…
