Chapter 2: Familiar Scenery

Welcome to the Chapter 2 mission. This time, we have to take on the bandits currently trapped at the Red Canyon. This mission introduces some new changes of Maddening Mode, which are giving certain skills to enemies. Archers now have Bowrange +1 and Poison Strike, while Thieves have Pass, for example. Keep these in mind when moving forward and feel free to stay at the starting position to take care of the incoming enemies. Here are the rest of the Black Eagles:
- Ferdinand: His name is Ferdinand von Aegir and he's a standard Cavalier character. Cavalry is good in this game because of their high movement range, but their growth modifiers will hinder a unit's Speed as they level up. We'll do something a bit different with Ferdinand in this playthrough. His best stats are his HP and Speed, though his growths are fairly balanced.
- Bernadetta: An extremely socially awkward shut-in with interesting potential. Her personal skill is good, it boosts her damage when she's not at full HP, and her crest can ocassionally make her attack twice in a row. Her growths are rather low, though, except for Dex and Speed. She has the talents to become a Bow Knight, but I think I'll throw her on a pegasus or a wyvern instead... Best stat is Dexterity.
- Caspar: "I'll fight you" shortie. Sadly has the slowest start out of any unit in the house, so he needs a lot of babying to get kills with Smash or Fading Blow. Surprisingly, he has similar growths to Byleth, though low starting stats. Best stat is HP.
- Dorothea: A songstress since young age. She's a great supporting mage, with her personal ability healing adjacent allies every turn and getting access to Physic later. Her Black Magic arsenal is also quite big. Best stat is... Dexterity? That's odd, though her growths ARE fairly low.
