8This is the timeskip stage. And it was destined to go poorly, due to me neglecting some of the main house members. It's even harder than usual because you don't have a well built lord coming to help you out at the start, you just have Seteth, who isn't bad by any means, but he's no Claude or Dimitri.
I also didn't realize the game wouldn't equip my unequipped house members with some basic weaponry, just so they could defend themselves. So Ferdinand and Caspar appeared in this stage without any weapons. Ferdinand was safe because he spawned in an area no enemies can attack him right off the bat, but Caspar and Dorothea? Yeah, they spawned on their own and got slaughtered. There was no way I was saving them. It's REALLY a dick move that the game will spawn them in a position they're guaranteed to get killed if they haven't been trained. I was having a hard enough time just keeping Byleth, Seteth, and Petra alive at the beginning of this stage.
Losing Caspar is whatever, but Dorothea I'd actually put some effort into training to make a potential backrow filler. She was doing alright for herself, but so much for that. Seriously, why would you have a stage that forces so many characters and leaves most of them vulnerable? I can't imagine how difficult this stage would be if you only had Byleth trained up. They could have at least done it where like "your 9 highest leveled characters appear" instead of your house members. It's like the game assumes you'll use them ALL on every playthrough lol.
