Fire Fighter Build Baldur's Gate 3 Builds Early Access Patch 5
#baldursgate3 #patch5 #build
This Fighter Build, that I have dubbed the "Fire Fighter" build, is a build left by a commenter on the 20 Charisma Warlock Video. The idea is that we use Searing Smite with the Everburn Blade, while hasted and with a potion of Hill Giant Strength, and using action surge on a held humanoid.

12:00 Feedback and Review of Build
While the the character seems like they can do an obscene amount of damage in one turn, and the original poster wrote it is a guaranteed 118 damage, it's just not quite as good as it's made out to be.
It's not practical to have all of those things align for a single turn, plus no humanoid can stand up to that much damage in one turn, meaning we cannot get all those guaranteed hits. It doesn't help that enemies get to make two saving throws against hold person if they get their turn before the fighter, making it very difficult to have an enemy held for a long time.
it's still a solid build, with a good foundation of a battlemaster with the great weapon master feat, with the addition of a once per long rest smite attack, and it's not weak in that sense.
Please do let me know if there are any builds you want me to show, which you can put into the comments or send me an e-mail to casualveterangamer@gmail.com.

I maybe found a way to deal a minimum 118 guaranteed damage and almost 550 dmg in a single turn (assuming perfect rolls) by abusing Warrior and Hold person:
The idea would be to have a lvl 4 Zariel thiefling warrior with great weapon focus.
This means it could potentially hit 5 times in one turn, with a spare bonus action to jump into the fight or do something else.
Assuming you get potion of strength, potion of speed, with EVERBURN BLADE and CIRCLET OF FIRE.
Searing strike = 2d6+1d4+5 +2d6 (consumes 1 Action point)
Frightning strike = 2d6+1d4+5+1d8 1 (Action point from action surge)
Normal attack = 2d6+1d4+5 (1 Action point from potion)
If crit or kill:
Normal attack = 2d6+1d4+5 (Bonus action (GREAT WEAPON MASTER passive))
Reaction attack = 2d6+1d4+5 (Reaction point from frightened when the enemy flees at the start of his turn.)
+ remaining bonus action if fiery return works with searing smite + (maybe it works from the subsequent fire damage due to concentration for next turns ? although I doubt it).
Total :
10 min max 33 (+10) if "all in is used" from GREAT WEAPON MASTER .
9 min max 29 (+10)
8 min max 21 (+10)
8 min max 21 (+10)
8 min max 21 (+10)
= min damage : 34 (118 if you crit on every roll cuz crits doubles damage dice rolls, we still keep the +10 from each attack thanks to all in)
max damage : 125 ( 300 with all hits with great weapon +10 dmg, and best roll on critical strikes + assuming the enemy is still alive, manages to break hold, and runs away from you because of frightened which triggers your reaction attack, and we assume it deals max damage on a critical strike).
Now, don't forget that It's actually pretty easy to crit every single time, in fact, you just need someone to cast "hold person" and attack in melee range, although it works only on humanoids.
But yes, that means you have guaranteed 100% critical strike on a held person, so the "All in" from Great weapon master is also free +10 damage (Maybe +20 ? i'm not sure if crit doubles the damage) on each attack since it can't miss.
The damage can be even more if we use GREATCLUB (MINOTAUR) (just add 60 max damage (double that with crit) ) and WYVERN POISON (add 7d6 = +7 min + 42 max (double that with crit))
So yeah with all that if my math is correct, we could look at 132 minimum damage (assuming worst rolls but still critical strike from held + all in passive) and a maximum of 554 damage in a single turn assuming best possible roll on every single crits + all in passive.
And we still have a bonus action to spend from circet of fire by using Searing strike.
Do keep in mind that Baldur's Gate 3 is still in early access and so the features shown in the video are subject to change and the game is incomplete, so expect more to be added to the game in the future. At time of recording the game was still in Early Access Patch 5, and by the time of the full release of Baldur's Gate 3 things may have changed.
