First 12 Minutes of Grand Theft Auto San Andreas / Rockstar Games / Grove Street 4 Life Carl Johnson
What can I say about Grand Theft Auto San Andreas that hasn't already been said? Rockstar Games hit this classic out of the park, giving us an awesome roll playing game, a crime thriller, and a training day bad cop style movie all at the same time.
Our main character is CJ. One of the most multi faceted characters ever to appear in a video game. He goes from being a normal every day rando to working for the CIA. But between this giant leap he spends time as a gangbanger running the streets of Los Santos representing Grove Street. Grove street 4 life. Friends with Big Smoke, Rider, and his brother sweet. Carl, better known as CJ shows us all 3 major California and Nevada cities including Los Santos, (Modeled after Los Angeles) San Fierro, (Modeled after San Francisco) and Las Venturas. (Modeled after Las Vegas.)
Some of the real life elements that are referenced in the game include the LAPD Rampart Scandal, the Crack Epidemic of the 1980's, and Watts Riots, and turf wars between rival street gangs.
Created in an open non linier environment, unless the storyline has locked the map to a specific location, CJ is able to freely roam. GTA San Andreas offered one of the first truly open maps and showed just how big a map could be. Bone County is often forgotten about when referencing the map, but was created to model the desert area between California and Nevada. Area 69 is an obvious reference to Area 51 and if you fly over this area in the game you will be met with surface to air missiles. Bone county is also meant to represent some of the area that would include Stockton, Modesto, Fresno, and Barstow.
There are a lot of things for CJ to get his ass into including Strip clubs, Ammu-Nation, Cluckin Bell, and Burger Shot. I could literally play this game for hours a day and never get tired. When you run out of missions you can just roll around on the bike and do tricks.
