[First Hours] Overkill's The Walking Dead - Closed Beta
0Inspired by a show I ditched by season 3, comes Overkill's surprisingly good rendition. It's basically a way more realistic Left 4 Dead. Also, I didn't see a NDA, so here we go.
- Slower, more methodical, Left 4 Dead style gameplay.
- Large, beautiful levels with alternative paths to get to an objective.
- Noise system, where if you're a noisy fuck, walkers come get you. In subsequently larger droves too.
- There's a stealth system when it comes to human AI. Be like Sam Fisher, except 99% less cool.
- You have a base you can upgrade using the supplies you find during missions. These upgrades can help you, and your survivors at base camp. You also have to pay upkeep with said supplies.
- Send survivors to do missions, or man them at certain facilities at base camp. The former giving you supplies, and the latter, giving you buffs.
- Class based characters with an RPG system for skills/abilities.
- Find better versions of your default weapons, or new weapons altogether, from weapon cases and missions.
- You can find weapon mods, to make your shitty weapons operator worthy.
- There are missions where you defend your base camp from walkers and humans. (Wave-based/horde-type gameplay)
- Zombie AI is cool, they flock together, doing zombie things. Human AI is odd, and sometimes bad.
- Honestly it's not too shabby. Pretty fun at times. Only bad times I had were online players being fucking retarded. Like holy shit. There's this one mission called "listening in" where you have to go steal a radio. That radio is locked behind a "sequence/password" protected door. To get through that door, look at the code printed on a small screen, then input the code to the appropriate computer. Like if the code says "D02", go to computer D, put in '0' on the left column and '2' on the right column, then submit it. Do that 4 times. That's it. People can't seem to fucking understand this. Anyways, yea the game isn't too bad.
P.S. My computer's GPU is getting pretty dated, thus the fps dips. Need a new GPU.
