This looked quite good and piqued my interest way back in the day. Tower defense games can just be good fun, and I have spent hours upon hours playing various different ones. It's one of the few types of games my wife shows any interest in. Colony Siege combines Tower Defense with a command vessel that builds, repairs, and fights, plus units you can create to help combat the waves of baddies. A bit of TD and RTS combined quite nicely.
