Herolike has been bouncing around in my inventory for quite a while now. I had marked it down as something I really wanted to check out and cover. Going into this First Look I had expected this to be like many of the hack 'n slash games out there. You know, multiple heroes, classes, traversing a corrupted and evil world from a top down isometric view. While it does have some of those things, it takes a bit of a different approach. Instead of a big sprawling world, it gives it to you in missions and waves of enemies. Some of those missions have different objectives, while others are simply MURDER and survive. It's an interesting and different approach to the traditional hack 'n slash genre. Add to the mix the roguelike elements, permadeath, upgradable town, merchants to purchase gear and the resources you gain from completing missions that allow you to upgrade the town. It's a very unique blend of genres and this First Look only just scratched the surface!
