Thea : The Awakening was a game suggested by a subscriber a while back. I checked it out and immediately reached out to the developers. I've spent quite a few hours since then, learning the game to the point that I feel I can finally showcase it. Turns out, it's about to release any day! Yay for timing! I really have had a ton of fun with Thea so far, and I hope you all do as well. Enjoy 4X games but wish there was a bit more to them? Well, Thea is different enough that 4X isn't exactly an accurate way to describe it, YET you'll definitely feel like you're playing one at the same time! GO PLAY THEA : THE AWAKENING NOW! What Is Thea : The Awakening?
Thea : The Awakening is best described as a turn-based strategic survival game with a Slavic mythology setting after The Darkness has come through, engulfing the world and sending the gods into hiding. Light has finally returned to the world of Thea and with it those gods. It's up to you to help your few remaining followers survive. Thea is most similar in many aspects to 4X games you've seen before, but that's just a tiny bit of what Thea has to offer. It's roguelike in the sense that every world is procedurally generated and all encounters are random. No two playthroughs will be the same. Almost every aspect of the game is incredibly deep. Exploring requires a party capable of problem solving, gathering, and, of course, fighting. You won't just send warriors out to explore as they will quickly starve, or may die to wounds suffered in battle. The battles themselves are tactically deep and can be handled multiple ways. I could go on for hours about Thea : The Awakening, but I think showing you, may be better than telling you here. Thea in a word, DEEP! Innovative! Amazing! Okay, so it's 3 words, deal with it! :D
