So spent... a while (almost two days), taking on the basilisk trying to get it tamed. It was quite the back and forth from that giant snake.

Update as of posting today, Reading more and more that the Basilisk can ONLY be tamed with rock drake eggs. Calculators and wiki say otherwise, but no one seems to be reporting luck with other eggs. Still not fully verified but starting to believe it since I've tried A LOT with no success.
