Last week I found out that they made a good and proper Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door Randomizer around 6 months ago based on Archipelago. Now I've never used Archipelago but given how much I love both The Thousand Year Door generally (top 5 game for me) and Paper Mario Randomizer specifically (favorite Randomizer) I had to get it set up and give a try pronto. That's what this stream was - me trying Paper Mario TTYD Randomizer for the first time.

I'll say, I went with some pretty lenient settings. I didn't want to deal with random enemies so I started with endgame stats, bump attack and as many Power Pluses as I could afford. Also both emblems for style. Mostly this is just me charging around trying to figure out how to get everything and what I can get next. I had some issues with the tracker and some checks along the way, I probably lost a good hour or two just trying to figure out where stuff was. If I did this again I'd have started with Ms Mowz who would've helped a ton, maybe also Super Boots so I didn't have to backtrack for every panel.

Every time you do a new Randomizer for the first time it's going to be a bit of a struggle, but the important thing is that I got through under the maximum length of a YouTube video and also had a great time. I think TTYD Randomizer could use a few quality of life improvements from PM Randomizer and some additional item pool options but it's off to a damn good start and I'm sure I'll play it many more times.

Oh, also yes. Equipping 9 Power Pluses at once feels super good.
