First Time Playing | Fist of the North Star (NES)
When I was a kid, this anime was kind of an urban legend. I kept on hearing stories from two friends who had family who watched Japanese television that there's this violent martial arts anime where some guy goes around and fights people. Unlike the Transformers and GI Joe, the characters in this anime died. If the enemies were extra mean to the main character Kenshiro, or to the innocent civilians, then Kenshiro outright kills them violently (like head or body exploding) using a special form of attack that uses pressure points (think of the death move Beatrix uses at the end on Bill at the end of Kill Bill and you get a rough idea).
Anyway, this action platforming game's controls aren't as polished as those in a Mario or Mega Man game, but Kenshiro does control decently well (better than in Last Battle I think). Like in the anime, some enemies explode when you kill them (which is fun and not gruesome in anyway). The platforming portion of the game is okay...kind of awkward and confusing. An above average game.
