I'm actually enjoying the game, it is a free to play game with microtransactions and ads though, but you don't need to pay to actually get stronger.

As you progress, you’ll acquire bonuses, new abilities, upgrades and even a chance at some loot. With each battle conquered, your Mini Slayer becomes stronger and stronger – until you fall in battle, that is. Thankfully, nothing can truly stop the Mini Slayer! Use your rewards to craft superior gear, upgrade your weapons and return to the fray even mightier than before.
