Galaxian is an arcade game developed by Namco in October 1979. It was published by Namco in Japan and imported to North America by Midway in December of that year. The game was a fixed shooter in which the player controlled a spaceship at the bottom of the screen, shooting at enemies, descending from different directions. The game was supposed to compete with the earlier successful Space Invaders game.
