Fish Traps Are an EASY Scrap Farm in Rust! Here's Why & How to Use Them...
Fish traps have been neglected since the original introduction of fishing. Formerly they were used for low grade farming but became completely useless with the fishing update. Now, fishing has been changed, atlering the bait system and bringing that new system to fish traps as well. This makes fish traps viable for farming scrap, animal fat, bones, blue cards, and fish meat. You can even compost those bones into fertilizer and create a loop with growing hemp or berries. This makes fish traps a powerful addition to your progression. While I'd say it's not overpowered, it's simple, safe, mostly passive, and doesn't require blueprints. You simply need to try it.
Also I technically lied in the video, I was using 14 traps not 16, I left 2 foundations out for water pumps and to try fishing in the base. The water wasn't deep enough to get anything good though.
