Moncage is an innovative perspective puzzle game, where you must link objects in different scenes across different sides of a cube to advance the story. The game itself is quite short, a lot of the time is spent looking for the correct objects to match. Thankfully you can highlight key objects in each scene. The art style is fantastic. The game is very similar to Gorogoa in terms of the key gameplay mechanic and the abstract nature of the story. Even the achievements are quite similar (both have a "first attempt / quick reaction time" achievement, as well as a "timed completion" achievement). Overall, a great, niche puzzler, but a tad pricey given its length.
A beautifully crafted game which will blow your mind and I'm sure mine did.
Best part about hints? You are not forced to wait every few minutes for just ONE hint but rather all the hints are given to help you progress for a section.
And if you still don't know what to do after the given hints, there is still a choice to show a video on what to do.
Game is on the short side about 2hr plus. So I would suggest to get on a discount if there is one.
A must game for every puzzle enthusiast.
I found this game enjoyable and frustrating at the same time. The spacebar is essential. Even knowing what you can manipulate or arrange doesn't make it easy.
Got this as a Christmas gift from my SO.
This game is an experience, not only a puzzle game. Music, art, story, puzzles, everything screams care and attention to detail. Some of the puzzles are quite challenging, and you will find yourself banging your head at walls for quite some time if you are the type that does not peak at hints or walkthroughs for a helping hand at any cost. The hints. The hint system is nice, it gives you a timed window to pull your hair for each puzzle, then offers the option to ask for hints. There are 3 for each panel, and a video solution as the fourth hint if you REAAALLY dont get it.
I'd say first playthrough may take you anywhere from 2 hours to 5-6 hours, depending on how skillful you are at optical puzzles and perspective vision. Subsequent playthroughs (for achievements, for eg.) can take as little as 20-25 minutes if you are clockwork. 30-35 min if you take your time to smell the roses.
All in all, a wonderful experience. Totally worth the time and money. 10/10 would recommend.
