Fixing a PCVR game recorded in the Quest 2
So as a follow up to me testing a recording natively in the quest 2 of a PCVR game, I showed the audio was way out of sync. So I decided to see if I could fix it by post editing and skewing the audio track. SURE ENOUGH you can and it stays synced from that point on. The audio skew was about 2.7 seconds.
The workflow for me was not that easy. I have a older version of Sony Vegas and it would not import the audio for the Oculus recording. It would import the video.
So first I used the free program VLC. I converted the video to only the audio portion to MP3.
Then in Vegas I imported the Oculus video (which did not include audio as that would not import) then I just added the VLC audio track.
I Then skewed the audio until it lined up with the video.
Then in Sony Vegas I rendered the new vid which took about 4 minutes.
FIXED!
Now I have to say, this is easier then setting up OBS Studio in my opinion. Record in your quest then use video editing software to fix the audio. NOT ACTUALLY that bad a process.
