Back from PAX East, we begin the final week of our first Animepril! This suggestion was made by heroace on tumblr to talk about one of the first 'more-mature' anime series I'd ever seen when it ran frequently on [adult swim] in the early 2000's, Gainax's 6-episode FLCL ("Fooly Cool")! I thoughts on this show have definitely evolved and changed over the last decade or so since I first saw it. Is it just a fun ride of a couple hours worth of nonsensically beautiful animation, or IS it as 'deep' as people make it out to be, filled with hidden meanings? The experience Naota has with Haruko is, in a way, like a sci-fi Mary Poppins-type of story...and with two new seasons coming up, involving new characters, who knows what we can expect?
