We reach the halfway point of Animepril, just in time for the premiere of the English dub of "Hunter X Hunter" tonight on Toonami! Today, I'm (finally) joined by besties Mike Luckas and Steve Yurko to talk about Yoshihiro Togashi's previous legendary Shonen series, "Yu Yu Hakusho", a show incredibly near and dear to our hearts. Mike, Steve and I first got into this show back in the early 2000's when it premiered on Adult Swim's action block, eventually transitioning to the weekday iteration of Toonami during that time on Cartoon Network. Going hot off DBZ, Yu Yu was a massive deal for FUNimation and the universe of Togashi's amazingly memorable characters with supernatural powers captivated us from episode 1. We could probably talk about this show for HOURS, but there's hopefully plenty in this discussion to satisfy any fan of the series as we hop down memory lane to a show that still very much holds up.
