296Summer Event 2019 in Forge of Empires
The Summer Event is a highlight during 3 weeks in every year of Forge of Empires. Especially new players should take the opportunity to accelerate their development with these phantastic rewards of the wheel of fortune. As in the year before the event again takes us to Forge Island. This means that we will see some of last year's rewards and the new rewards match the theme.
To spin the wheel of fortune you need a doublone, a medieval Spanish gold coin.
It is beneficial to log in every day as you receive a daily doublone then.
Then there is the main quest line of the summer event with 34 quests. If you manage to complete these fast, you can complete another 21 quests receiving one every day.
The quest line has milestones for completing quest 15 and quest 40 granting another 10 doublones each.
The quests are from the usual range of quests and can be completed easily in all ages. As always you can find the quests in the first, pinned comment below the video.
You also can buy doublons using diamonds. I did not do that on the beta server in this event.
Spinning the wheel of fortune by using one doublone, it will stop on a randomly chosen position of the nine possible positions. In most case you will receive one of the many standard rewards. Sometimes the wheel will stop on a silver or even a golden position. The standard prices will make players in the lowest ages very happy. Additional forge points, units, boosts, coins and supplies are appreciated much then. One of the nine positions always is a golden price. There you can receive special prices. One of these is the ship upgrade kit from last year's summer event. Those who have an incomplete ship either in their city or in their inventory will have the opportunity to complete it now.
The wheel of fortune offers the possibility to simply spin the wheel or to ask for a new set of possible rewards and spin then. Both possibilities consume 1 doublone each.
I recommend to have a look on the golden price before you spin the wheel. Is the golden price still available or has it already been taken by a neighbor? Is the offered golden price attractive? If the golden price is not one of the desired golden prices ask for a new set of rewards.
To estimate the quality of a golden price it is an advantage to know all possible golden prices. For me it was mainly interesting to make my second Ship complete. If the ship upgrade kit wasn't offered, I asked for a new set of prices. When it was available I spun the wheel of fortune until it was mine. Now I have both, the Pirate Ship and the Royal Ship, next to each other in my city.
Some players believe that they could influence the result by pressing the STOP key at the right time. From my experience I cannot agree. You cannot influence the result. But using the STOP key reduces the duration of the animation and saving time can make a difference if you compete with a neighbor to get that golden price.
You share the golden wheel with you neighborhood. They can pick the golden price from the wheel or they can change the rewards on the wheel when you wanted to continue with the existing set. Neighbors can be very annoying – even if it was not their intention. On the other side you also can wait that others produce the desired constellation of prices on the wheel and then you quickly can take advantage of the opportunity.
For each spin you can move your ship a bit further on that minimap. A sort of compass decides if you may move forward one, two or three tiles. This brings luck into the game. But don't worry. Although the digit 3 is only displayed once on the wheel I had the impression as if it is taken as often as the other 2 values. Anyway you don't need to be nervous as I will emphasize a bit later. You will be able to get your ship to the end often enough.
The Crow's Nest on level 8 is very interesting. You need 7 upgrades for that. After 49 quests I now have 6 upgrade kits and the last quest will reward me with another upgrade kit. From this I can say that it is guaranteed that everybody who logs in every day and completes the questline will be able to build the Crow's Nest on level 8.
This makes the summer event once again to be a fascinating highlight. We will all look forward to participate in it.
