FoEhints: Archaeology Event in Forge of Empires
Archaeology Event in Forge of Empires
Something new is coming to the known schedule of events in Forge of Empires. The Archaeology event is completely different.
Some basic elements are known already from other events. You will get rewarded for daily logins and there are 39 rush quests plus 21 daily quests. The rewards are always scrolls. These can be used to buy brushes, shovels and dynamite. You can buy discounted packages or single tools.
With these tools you can then clear sand from tiles to uncover buried treasures. Brushes are for the detail work as they reveal a single tile only. With a shovel a complete column is uncovered. And dynamite uncovers all tiles around a tile. Don't worry: The explosion will not destroy the relics. Instead these are revealed and ready to be picked up. The effects of a shovel or dynamite end at walls. Therefore you should use them wisely.
Seeing a relic is not enough. You first have to clear the sand from that tile and then you will have to click on that item. Without that final click that item will not be in your inventory.
In most cases the brush will be your tool of choice. In some situations it can be better to use a shovel or dynamite.
When digging deeper you can find more tools or relics like vases. These contain the usual random set or rewards and with a certain percentage a daily changing prize.
One of these daily prizes is the carousel. In the Contemporary Era it provides 1,630 happiness, 6% attack bonus and 6% city defense. And the animation is cute.
I concentrated completely on the golden idols. Steven Spielberg, the director of the movie Indiana Jones 'Raiders of the Lost Arc' let his main actor find a golden idol as his first treasure. That golden idol was inspired by a fertility symbol of the Aztecs. Since then golden idols became part of many computer games, from now on including Forge of Empires. 20 golden idols are needed to receive one grand prize. Most grand prizes are upgrade kits for the World's Fair. This is the most wanted reward of the new event. On a 6x4 floor size it provides up to 10 forge points every day plus population, coins and 10 goods of the building's age every day.
As with all events I always make an early calculation if it is possible to receive the World's Fair without using diamonds. This time we have an event building that is already interesting on level 7. It looks great and has benefits which are too good to renounce. But as I know it could be much better I want the World's Fair on that excellent level 10.
50 Scrolls each for your daily login
30 scrolls for each of the 39 rush quests
On top you have the rewards of the quest line milestones. These are 600 scrolls each for completing quests 15 and 45. For completing quest 30 and the final quest you receive an upgrade kit directly.
After half of all quests my status is: I received the World's fair as level 1 building as a reward for completing quest 5.I received 3 upgrade kits from my excavations and 1 upgrade kit from the milestone. I still need 4 more upgrade kits to reach level 10. Either the daily quests provide better rewards than the rush quests, which we saw already in previous events. Or I need a much better strategy for my excavations. But I don't have many ideas for that at the moment. If someone has a good idea, please leave a comment below the video. From my current pont of view it will be difficult in the end. Therefore I decided for my excavations to concenbtrate on Golden idols and to avoid spending brushes on vases if they are not required to make progress. All others I just leave in the tomb to maximize the number of received golden idols as the World's Fair is a really great event building.
In case the event will introduce us to a new cultural settlement, it would be absolutely perfect.
