1King Griggs was a reclusive carpenter living on the outskirts of Rosewood, fiercely protective of his land and quick to anger if anyone came near. One day, when a group of teenagers trespassed, he lost control and chased them off with a hammer, leading to his arrest. Locked up overnight in the quiet cell at the local police station, he felt an unsettling chill and drifted into troubled sleep, sensing strange shadows twisting around him.
When he awoke, everything had changed. The police station was empty, clocks had stopped, and the streets of Rosewood lay silent and abandoned. He realised that this desolate place was his now, and no person would ever disturb him again.
This is the story of how King Griggs died, trapped in the solitude he had spent his life building.
