For Honor is a fun game, and getting consistent 60fps at 1440p on a 970 machine isn't very challenging. High preset (just a notch below Ultra),16x AF gets the job done. PS4 Pro also seems to utilise the High preset but 8x AF at same native 1440p (no checkerboard) with a 30fps cap.
