The battles that were waged after Skali's demise were as ferocious and bloody as they were numerous. It wasn't officially ordered, it wasn't given a thought by the council, it just occurred, it broke out, never defense but attack after attack enemy fortresses fell and were taken up and each time more joined the crusade.

Eivar had become something more beast than man when Skali died, something had broke like a light into a thousand shards, scattering on the floor of his mind. He began with the coastal outposts, tearing the men inside apart, leaving behind broken bodies and burning structures, he passed through town after town and his legend grew with every massacre. Then the sellswords joined him, then the soldiers, then the guardsmen and the archers as they had brought devastation to castles and villages, longhouses and barracks, temples and homes.

The men that followed him one night spoke amongst one another of Eivar, of his rage, of his brutality, that one heard breaking bones of his enemies, that another heard the crunch and breaking of armour with every kick, strike and bash. It was true, When Eivar entered battle he felt nothing but rage, primal anger, ancient fury embody him, but it was not that of a Berserker. No, his ravenous fury was silent, it was calculated.

Word spread among the people fast, whether it was ally or foe, the villages spoke of a beast, of a demon, of a monster, of a hate filled titan. stories became exaggerated, and the commanders of enemy strongholds either began to fear this legend themselves or laughed at the idea, the ones that laughed didn't survive long.

It has been decades since the order had heard of or seen such success in an individual highlander, but they recognized he had gained a following and couldn't stop the process.

Eivar had been made into a Elite. And with that had gained an official rank and status with his small army being officially made his, given their own land, given his own land and base of operations it was now that Eivar had a realization of two things. That one, the council would be watching him far more closely which was irrelevant to him in his quest, his vengeance and wrath against the knights in black armour, an order formed deep in the pit of Ashfeld. The second, that now his war could truly begin.

Like lines on a map various battalions left a trail in snow, surrounding fortress after fortress in the viking territories. It took days to prepare, he had to hire more men, he gained help of other lower level Highlanders, but this dark night, this quiet night a singular roar was all it took, hidden siege weapons fired, in moments walls were breached, all along the viking coast a strike as precise as a scalpel and as devastating as a cannon burst supply lines, crushed defenses and slaughter of mass scale ensued.

The council knew of this plan however, they didn't fully approve but with the excuse that it would lessen raids on their territories Eivar had managed to convince just enough to gain permission, a formality really.
All United under his banner against their foes, Battle hardened, experienced, and deadly.

At the centre of all the fighting Eivar was, enemy by Enemy, body by body, broken bones and decapitated heads, he became known among all as: Eivar the hateful, Eivar the Vengeful, Eivar the unyielding, and what would grow to be his favourite, Eivar the Ruthless.

The plan was as flawlessly executed as could be, with an entire section of territories being carved from Valkenheims Vikings, Eivar took to heart Skali's lessons, be as cunning as you are brutal, and Terrifyingly, Eivar was monstrously good at being brutal.

The next morning viking scouts were sent to see what had happened, it was when they reached the main paths to every fortress they got a clue, with their own men hanged from pikes overnight, with their own intestines, and on the road to one fortress Eivar stood with a dozen of horrors hanging around him, with a few of his troops covered on blood surrounding him.

The scouts reported back to their commanders with a message as well as what they saw.

A challenge to whoever would be foolish enough to take it, to face him at their leisure.
