For Honor: Highlander: The challenge (story in the description)
The sun had broken through the veil of clouds on the gloom riddled day, it was a day that was threatening to storm and pour with violent rain. Yet the sun broke through for a time, waking Eivar, waking the men in the forts, waking their commanders and so the process began, the donning of armour, the sharpening of blades, the polish and cleaning of the day's gear. The commanders confident in their ability to quickly deal with their opponent they assumed would be Eivar, a idiotic, simple brute that was no different than the men in their fortresses despite the stories about him. While Eivar would treat the situation in his mind like any other, he would emphasize its importance, its role to play, messengers were coming in droves relaying information from the Council of the order, as well as news that more men were coming in to join his army out of volunteering, the stories and legend of Eivar were good at that, attracting those who wanted strength in their leader and a initiative for vengeance upon those who invaded their lands.
Hours passed and Eivar stood within a arena, in truth it was a large, roughly drawn square that would be large enough to squeeze a small crowd within. Eivar stood waiting and it was with the thunder of boots and the shift and shuffle of armour beyond the trees that announced the arrival of the four challengers, two of which brought their forces, the other two walked alongside them, the weapons they carried varied from one another, one held a Dane Axe, another, twin hatchets, the third with a short sword and shield and the last held a great sword, looted off the body of a knight no doubt. They all came to a stop a few feet from the arena as the other forces began to crowd around to watch the spectacle. It was the Dane axe wielder that spoke first in a prideful and deep voice.
"So you are the Legend my men speak of? I will say I'm not particularly sure what makes you seem like a beast...but all that aside, who of us do you wish to face first?" The group chuckled as did the crowd before Eivar silently pointed to the one with sword and shield, he wanted to kill the ones who didn't bring their men first, it was with joy the man walked into the Arena, it took a moment before Eivars army stepped out from the trees, ensuring nothing out of turn would happen, a nervous atmosphere came over the enemy force, then a smaller man in armour came to the middle of the arena. The fight began shortly and Eivar was not hesitant nor merciful, he barraged the commander, the large blade cutting large sections out of the shield, parries, kicks, grabs and counters, it didn't take long for the crowd to shift from nervous to fearful and the same could be said for the man being barraged, he did his best, dodging when possible, blocking what he could and glancing Eivar with an insignificant slash, but it was the last thunderous kick and swing of the Claymore in Eivars hands that ended it, carving through flesh and bone, severing the head of the commander with a loud crack.
safe to say, the commanders weren't as excited now to face him and with no hesitation, he called upon the hatchet wielder, who was shortly cleaved in half, and the great sword wielder was impaled and thrown aside, with each death, each kick, each roar and strike the morale of the crowd lowered, while the cheers of Eivars army were thunderous, and the Dane axe wielding commander was silent in his worry, as he was called upon next.
Eivar had finally spoken when the last commander entered the now bloody mess of the arena. "Do you know now why your men named me a beast? a beast that craves blood?" The commander didn't respond except for readying himself, lining up to Eivar.
The battle began and the warriors clashed, they dodged slashes and jabs, the commander avoided the kicks and broke free from grabs and Eivar counter attacked with any swing coming his way and pressured the commander, narrowly avoiding death, the two chipped away at armour, broke away plate and mail, it was a long duel between dragons but Eivar remembered Skali for a moment and what he did to unexpectant opponents, Eivar swung the blade low, and it was with horror that the commander's army watched as his legs were cut clean off, and then quickly ended with the large blade piercing his throat.
It was supposedly over, but Eivar looked up to the crowd and warned them in a roar
"tell the others what you saw here, go!" he picked up and threw the Dane axe with force into the crowd, screams and blood were seen and heard following the men as they ran for their lives while Eivars army watched "RUN, tell all that they have two days to leave their fortresses, that I am coming!"
it was two days later that fires were erupting in other forts, and fear was invasive on the defenders minds when they saw the fires, when they saw their walls crumble and they saw him.
