Flame Whip Route is indeed MUCH faster than Chain Whip Route, that debate has been put to bed with this run. A 34-minute run is on the table, as this category is probably close to dead.

This speedrun has now become 1000% harder, because Flame Whip is a requirement for World Record. I was shocked that despite taking the detour for getting Morning Star that I was still ahead at the ring by a significant chunk of time. What makes this run extremely difficult is just heart luck, it's even worse than Any% Glitchless with fewer enemies to kill and the same number of hearts necessary to beat the game on this route.
