This route skips the Morning Star and Flame Whip upgrades and removes the safety of laurels to try to maximize the time saves. I'll have to see if Flame Whip ultimately saves time, since it takes about 25-30 seconds to detour to pick up those upgrades while it only gains about 20-25. Further testing will be needed to see if that is a more viable route although I do think that skipping those whip upgrades is probably close to 15-20 seconds faster on a well-executed run. I'll leave it to the rest of the community to figure out if Flame Whip is faster.
