Forspoken: In Tanta We Trust - Game Review

Hello, hello, gaming veterans! Welcome back to your beloved "Veteran Game" channel, and today, we're going to dive into a game review that might shake up the internet - we're talking about "Forspoken: In Tanta We Trust". This is the exciting DLC for the controversial Forspoken.

Internet haters might have decided to shun Forspoken prematurely, but let me tell you, this game is a gem. Its mesmerizing, fast-paced action, coupled with superb movement mechanics, makes it a worthwhile investment. Despite its slightly clichéd storyline and constant banter, its vibrant combat and exhilarating parkour more than make up for these minor flaws.

Unfortunately, the developers, Luminous Productions, were absorbed back into SquareEnix soon after the game's launch, leaving Forspoken's future hanging in the balance. But, luckily, they were able to deliver on the promised DLC expansion, and boy, did they deliver!

"In Tanta We Trust" expands upon the Forspoken universe, set after the main game events, with the antagonist, Cuff, finally defeated and once again confined within Frey's arm. With some loose ends, such as the lingering Break across Athia and Frey's quest to return to New York, this DLC takes us on a thrilling time-travel journey. Our protagonist Frey, morphs into a soldier, Thalia, and partners with Tanta Cinta to thwart an invasion, annihilate an evil tree, and unveil the roots of the Break.

Adjusting back to the basics after becoming ultra-powerful in the main game can be a bit challenging. But once you start harnessing your new Yellow magic in the game, everything falls into place. The Yellow magic kit is an offensive powerhouse, assisting you in supporting your partner, Tanta Cinta, who delivers the substantial damage in combat.

This DLC does not skimp on the difficulty, especially when played on Hard mode. But as the game progresses, you find yourself matching up to Tanta Cinta's power level, making your journey quite engaging.

Now, keep in mind, this DLC is on the shorter side, clocking in at around two and a half hours. However, it introduces an exciting twist to the combat system and brings in a final boss that seamlessly blends movement and battle mechanics. The only downside is that you might not get enough time to enjoy your newfound abilities fully before facing the final boss.

Storywise, "In Tanta We Trust" is fairly satisfactory. It might not reveal any groundbreaking information about the world or the characters, but the interactions between Frey and her mother provide some interesting dynamics.

Moreover, the dialogue between Frey and Cuff, who’s now become quite a character after his villainous reveal, livens up the narrative. Though he's cheering for your enemies, his wicked humor provides a fantastic contrast to Frey's more serious demeanor.

The only disappointment here is that the storyline seems to hint towards a sequel that might never see the light of day, considering the undeserved reception the base game received. It’s a real shame because this game truly holds potential, with a little more polish on the narrative front.

Last but not least, let's touch on the music. Whether it's a fresh composition or reused from the base game, the soundtrack adds a thrilling pulse to the action sequences, enhancing the overall gaming experience.

So, that's my take on "Forspoken: In Tanta We Trust". Despite the controversy and internet backlash, this game and its DLC are worth exploring. If you've given it a spin, share your thoughts in the comments section. And remember, in the world of gaming, always trust your instincts, veterans! Until next time, stay gaming, and stay awesome!
