Fortnite - Complete Leaky Lake Strategy Guide [How to Land & Win, Chest Locations, & More!!]
You can say that I've landed here a few times.
This spot is actually a gold mine for weapons, loot, etc. This area should almost be called loot lake still due to the incredible loot you can start the game with.
Big Idea:
The closer you land towards the crater, the riskier the drop but the greater the reward of weapons, meds, etc.
Safe (Easy) Strategy: Do not even land in the crater. Land on an outside building and you'll face no resistance. Once you have gathered the basic loot, work your way towards the center earning eliminations, etc. You can pick up the enemies loot that they have already searched for in the center crater or the surrounding islands.
Moderate Strategy (My Favorite): The only risk to you on the islands are players using the easy strategy or the water hazards in the process of transitioning. This strategy will guarantee you a chest but not many chests. This chest should provide the loot necessary to defeat others. The action is faster paced than the easy strategy and you can sneak upon enemies faster when they are least prepared.
Risky Strategy (Just send it!): This strategy requires landing directly in the center crater. Typically this leads to many legendary or epic items and many chests available for loot. You will have to loot fast to avoid the moderate strategy players of collapsing in on you on all sides.
Final Notes:
Essentially, this is a really great area to practice your skills in both shooting and building. The area is mainly open with a few vantage points or cover points. I would highly recommend this be an area that you land at if you want quick but not Tilted Towers quick action. You can still rack up kills and be in the center of the map!
