Thank you, Mr. pablocba for reminding me that DOS has 8 character filename limit - I forgot about it due to always keeping them names in that limit. So I finally experimented a bit more and... I found a way to play it (specifically, the SIGIL_COMPAT.wad), with seemingly no errors at all. It's not the MBF I was recommended, it was this BOOM thing, which I also used for E1M8B and E1M4B. So... I'mma DOS THIS THING COMPAT VERSION OF IT AFTER ALL THEN.

UPDATE: And I did. Only the E5M4's end open area caused sum lag, but otherwise, fun stuff.
