Found Many USELESS ₹2000 Notes While DIWALI Cleaning - Is it Really USELESS? #shorts
During Diwali cleaning, many people are finding old ₹2000 notes tucked away in drawers, books, or cupboards. These notes were discontinued from circulation some time ago, so it’s natural for people to wonder what to do with them now.
If you happen to find such notes, you can still get them exchanged. The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) allows people to exchange ₹2000 notes at its Issue Offices located in major cities. You can exchange up to ₹20,000 worth of notes in one visit by showing valid ID proof. The RBI also provides an option to send the notes by insured post to one of its offices, and the amount will be credited directly to your bank account once the verification is done.
Although ₹2000 notes are still legal tender, most shops and businesses no longer accept them. That’s why it’s better to deposit or exchange them instead of trying to spend them. Finding these old notes during Diwali cleaning can feel like discovering hidden money, but it’s important to take the right steps to get their full value back safely.
