a historical essay on the origins of the Falkland Islands, from half-sighted map ornament to Spanish penal colony, presented in my own characteristically wacky idiom.

come learn about everything Falklands, from the Treaty of Tordesillas, through the expeditions of De Weert, Bouganville, Byron and others, to the islands establishment as a hard luck posting of Spanish America.

i apologise in advance to actual historians for this piece of shitposty storytelling (for as i am not unveiling any new facts, it does not truly count as a real historical work), and am ever grateful to the works of others on which this one leans, particularly Hugh Bicheno's book "Razor's Edge" (the acerbic wit of which first sparked my Falklands obsession) and the comprehensive paper by Graham Pascoe and Peter Pepper.

various images used in this video are AI generated; where this is the case there is a visible colour bar marker so as not to be confused with real artworks used. a handy and very ethical feature in Dall-E, if you ask me.
