00:00 What's the thread connecting your philosophical work?
01:56 Can moral responsibility exist if we don't have free will?
05:34 Is philosophy doomed to only affect how we think and not how we act?
06:40 Has human kind always perceived free will in the same way?
13:20 Do you believe in personal identity?
15:59 What are other philosophical illusions?

Analytic philosopher Galen Strawson discusses free will, ultimate moral responsibility and the thin veneer of our own rationality. What does it mean for the fundamental ways in which we order society if one believes that, as Strawson argues, individuals are not responsible for their actions? In this discussion, Strawson also probes at how the narratives we require in order to have an idea of the 'self' allow us to follow misguided illusions.
