Freespace 2: Blue Planet - First Contact
9This is the eighth mission of Blue Planet: Age of Aquarius, the first campaign of the Blue Planet series. Blue Planet tells the story of the GTVA's return to Earth after constructing the Delta Serpentis portal, modeled on the Knossos devices. We occupy the character of Commander Samuel Bei of the 222nd Nightwolves, now temporarily stationed on the GTD Temeraire attached to the 56th Squadron. We don't know where we are, but it's clearly in the vicinity of the Eagle Nebula by looking out the cockpit glass. Several recon flights have been dispatched to scout out the system. For now, the Shivans do not appear to be following us, but one recon wing, dispatched to investigate a signal from deeper in the system, has gone missing. We're being sent after them in a stealth fighter, with authorization to initiate first contact if necessary.
