Freespace 2: The Procyon Insurgency - The Allied Counterattack
7This is the tenth mission of the Procyon Insurgency campaign for Freespace 2. With the rebel superdestroyer, designated PCD Saturn, on the hunt for our fleet, Command has escalated the engagement. More battlegroups are rushing to Procyon, but it will be some days before they arrive. Meanwhile with the loss of the GTD Minotaur, our forces are on the back foot. However, we cannot simply passively wait for them to come to us.
A pair of PCA warships, a corvette and a cruiser, recently engaged a pair of Allied corvettes, which pursued them away from enemy-held space. A Confederal destroyer came to their rescue and pursued our corvettes, but the PCCv Cypris and PCC Pirene remain isolated and vulnerable. Our squadron forms part of the strike package intended to eliminate these vessels.
