Freespace 2: Vassago's Dirge - Ossia
6This is the third mission of the Vassago's Dirge campaign for Freespace 2. We occupy the role of a pilot assigned to the defense of Capella during the second Shivan Incursion, just after the destruction of the first Sathanas. We have experienced a traumatic event involving the Shivan destroyer Vassago, and are being interrogated by Special Operations Command regarding what we saw. The missions are flashbacks of our memories as we recount to the debriefing officer. In this mission we recount the story of our rescue of the NTC Orpheus, the Neo-Terran cruiser that was carrying the subspace physicist who was developing the special systems at Cagliari. The cruiser had been captured by pirates, and in her distress call agreed to surrender if rescued...
