This is the first mission of the Warzone campaign for Freespace 2. The year is 2371, and we inhabit the role of a Terran pilot newly inducted into the 332nd Black Mantas, GTD Warlock. It has not even been four years since the severing and destruction of the Capella system, and now the Shivans have returned. Our Great War nemesis has mysteriously appeared in the Regulus system through unknown means, almost certainly an uncharted jump node. The 7th Fleet, which the Warlock flags, has been ordered into Regulus to cover the civilian evacuation and help contain the threat.

Our first sortie upon arrival in the system is a response to a distress call from the vicinity of the Polaris jump node. A science vessel, GTSC Disen, has activated its distress beacon. Records check out, but the vessel's orders and mission profile are sketchy. We are to protect the ship and secure the area until the GVD Tatenen arrives to secure the jump node.

While it's not my best work, you may recognize yours truly as the voice of Admiral Cole in the command briefing. Even though I did voice work for this campaign I never played it; this is again a blind first play.
