Today we cover:
- The winner of the I CAN HAZ MOD contest has found the secret ability to wish something for EVERYONE! Noobstine has chosen to have his character become a permanent NPC that gives you an item to show the world that everyone, especially yourself, is a winner! Those who had the Golden Cheezburger can trade it in with the NPC to get a special reward, and those who DIDN'T have the Cheezburger can get a separate item too!
- Next week is when the Obsidia Necromancer shop leaves! The Cinderclaw rares will leave too!
- But to replace Obsidia (although it's not even gone yet) is a new Dage shop: the Lightning Dragonsworn Rares!
- Also next week is Synderes' appearance in Yulgar's Inn!
- Hey, remember when we fought that dragon guy, to save the dragon egg, and he was really really OP? Well, we're probably going to go through that again... because next week we'll enter the lair of Krenos the Lightning Dragon and save another one of the dragon eggs!
- To celebrate Memorial Day, each day of this weekend will have a double boost! Today is a double Rep boost, Saturday is Class Points, Sunday is Exp, and Monday is Gold!
- Also, if you buy an AC package between now and May 31st, you'll get extra ACs to prepare you for what Artix, Beleen, and Cysero are bringing to the game for the next two months!
- The "Write a Hero Backstory" contest is over! Who knows when we'll find out who won?
- The server rewrite is officially ready for (members-only of course) testing! AE needs members to join the testing server (simply named Testing Server) and the primary goal is to find out just how balanced all the classes are! The server doesn't save character data, so if you do anything on it like doing quests, getting drops, or something as simple as equipping a different item, it'll be undone when you logout/switch to another server! Join the map "TestingHub" and you can equip ANY class, enhancement, and instantly level up to Rank 10! There will be a lot of work to do (for AE mainly, but depending on your definition of "work" maybe for the players too) so this test will likely take more than a week, or even more than a month!
- Boy, that part got so long that I decided to continue it in this one. Anyway, here's an example of how to test: Equip the Warrior Class, with all Fighter enhancements at your current level. Fight the Red Dragon in the Lair on the test server, while recording how long the fight takes and how much damage you're doing most of the time. Then use the same equipment and everything on the normal server and fight him again. If you can't kill him anywhere near as fast as on the new server, Warrior might be a bit OP and will need to be nerfed. If the Red Dragon is the one who wins on the test server, then Warrior needs to be stronger. I assume you can use pretty much any normal boss. Now, here's the ACTUAL changes...
*"Parry" and "Resist" are new stats. When you parry/resist an attack, the damage done is reduced based on your stat, but not completely blocked. Parry is for physical attacks and Resist is for magic.
*The other melee and magic stats (Strength/Dexterity and Intelligence/Wisdom) also affect the amount of damage reduced.
*Endurance makes you take less damage in general.
*Wisdom is now mainly a healing stat, so it increases all healing output, to others or to yourself.
*Luck has a very small effect on most classes, but has a BIG effect on CardClasher, Leprechaun, and other classes built around it. I assume its out-of-battle "passive" abilities will still be in play (slightly increasing your luck with drops). FINALLY, on to something else!
- Wrath of the Flame Lord! That's right, this is the REAL finale after last week's trick! The Phedra has risen, so put him right back down and defeat Tyndarius, who's actually pretty weakened during the fight and won't be very hard to beat.
