From the Depths Update: Still No Flash Drive
2Still waiting on my flash drive, which will allow me to offload some old videos from my laptop so I can make new campaign videos. However I have been using my time away from the campaign to work on new designs. Most of these have not met up with the Dodd Seal of Approval, BUT... I have two new designs for the campaign.
First is a lead balloon. See, in a sphere the surface area increases with radius less rapidly than does the volume. I have been told, and I am no math geek, that the surface area increases by the square of the radius but the volume increases by the cube. So, I figured, I could make an airship with a heavy armor hull if I made it big enough and squat (closer to a sphere) enough. And I like heavy armor. I like it a lot.
And so... the NoD's Wrath III Holochron (named after the information storage unit used by Jedi and Sith in Star Wars, though I am not particularly a Star Wars geek.) The NoD's Wrath III Holochron is encased in heavy armor slopes, but it is big and it is squat and has 20,000 engine power, so it flies.
Another of my flying bricks, though I guess this is more of a flying trapezoid.
It is armed with two almost 500 mm cannons with very long barrels and good sensors so it is capable of reaching out at very long range, and 4 Large Missiles. It is coated in ERA armor and smoke dispensers for dispensing with the Lightning Hoods. I can't see myself building more than one of these in campaign, so this will probably be my flagship.
The other design featured is a new freighter airship. While I like my old freighter airship (and it is 5000 resources cheaper than this one,) it has two drawbacks. One, it has a lot of resource capacity that I never use. It can hold 400k but I usually send it on its way half full. Secondly, it is not as fast as I would like.
The Airship Freighter Lite is twice as fast and has half the capacity, so it can fill up with 200k of resources and zoom them over to where I am doing my shipbuilding. 200k is about enough to build a NoD's Wrath II, so that is a nice round amount.
Both designs will wind up on the Workshop once I am able to start recording Campaign again.
