From TV Animation - One Piece: Grand Battle 2! - Opening and Tutorial with the first 13 characters
Check the bottom of this description for timestamps of each character's Tutorial portion. With One Piece Grand Battle 1 fully completed and watching Season 2 of One Piece that features the Alabasta Arc, I decided to get Grand Battle 2 to try to play and maybe 100% the game as well. Like its predecessor, this game also uses 2.5d game mechanics with the same rule of being the first to KO his/her opponent. The major differences are the Event Battle sequences, move sets and special moves, stages, character roster, and extra content. For starters, this game opens up with 13 characters to choose from in Tutorial and Grand Battle Mode and only the Straw Hat Crew plus Vivi in Event Battle. Before I do anything Event Battle related, I decided to take a look at all the menus and options in the game, and complete the command list for the first 13 characters that were playable from the start. From what I seen, the character's Stats are revealed first this time around instead of his/her Voice Clips plus a description about them. As for Tutorial, there are certain objectives that must be completed in order to unlock 3 things:
1. The character's Event Battle Record (Shown in Treasures)
2. Expert Difficulty for the CPU
3. The Training grounds as a Stage in Grand Battle Mode
Completing objectives to unlock 1 and 2 are fairly easy by completing every character's Command list. (Provided I unlock everyone in the game) Unlocking the Training grounds stage is much more difficult. The objective for that is to block the anchor item 100 times in a row without missing once. The main issue of the anchor is that the height it gains from blocking it is inconsistent along with the small window to block it in the first place. (Rhythm is very much required) There will most likely be a long video on the anchor challenge soon. With the objectives mentioned, there is only the explanation of the command list. Basically the pause menu shows the character's move set and the commands to execute them. All you gotta do is perform them and make sure it hits the opponent once and you get the "OK" text for it. Once you get the "OK" text from all the character's moves, a text will appear in the center of the screen saying "complete". There will be times you gotta use the anchor to plop up your CPU training partner in order to land aerials. In addition, you gotta turn on the attack option for the CPU in order to trigger counter specials and or perform get up attacks and hit the CPU. (Usopp and Karoo are only required for the get up attack) Other than that, the rest is mostly me completing the command list and fooling around with move sets. After Ms. All-Sunday, I showed the other summons that were available for Vivi Wapol and Mr. 3. Enjoy
