[PRECURSOR MISSION III: DEN OF THE BEAST]
- Locate the civilians
- Bring at least one civilian back to the entrance
Here's the mandatory Installation level for the Precursor campaign - and you start with two Cerberus Firebats in the northwest corner. Move along the starting corridor until you see a door, keep in mind that some Zerglings will attack you while approaching the door.
Step on the beacon inside it to access the security cameras, it will reveal the location of the civilians. Move further into the corridor and make a turn to the northeast. Again, Zerglings will attack you from behind so be vigilant. Move until you see a door, it will say access denied first but it will trigger a dialogue from a Marine to open up that door.
Enter the door to rescue the Marines inside. Double-back to the hallway, proceed further to the East until you see another door. You will be attacked by missile turrets, destroy them then step on the beacon to unlock the gates to the Engineering area of the installation. Go down south from this room - destroy the gun turrets that will show up. You will see another door, enter this room to rescue a lone Marine.
Double-back and descend down the flight of stairs south of this room; go through the gates, proceed south to enter the Engineering area. There are burrowed Zerglings here so proceed with caution and move along the corridor. You will soon encounter a few Marines with some Zerglings trapped behind the gates. Position your Firebats close to the gate first then move a Marine through the corridor to prompt it to open making the Zerglings wide-open for killing blows from the Firebats.
Once they're gone, proceed along the hallway until you see a flight of stairs. Be aware that there's a hidden flame turret in the wall. Regroup all your units before stepping into the beacon. Send a unit to step on the beacon to rescue the civilians. You must send the civilians out of the room they're in immediately as they'll get attacked by the Zerg.
Before you go, you would want to get a few extra reinforcements from the room north of the civilians position to get five more Marines to help you out.
Double-back all the way to the gate outside the Engineering area; but proceeding with caution as scripted Zerg attacks will occur. Instead of returning through the way you went in. Go for a shortcut by going northwest of the gate to the Engineering area to access a flight of stairs that will provide you an easy access back to your starting position which now has a beacon on it.
Zerg attacks will still occur as you try to approach the beacon. Let your Cerberus Firebats do most of the tanking while the Marines provide ranged support. Once a civilian steps on the beacon, this mission ends in a victory.
