Having a crack at a run with the oft-overlooked (at least in my case) Zoltan cruiser.
I've always been a bit mixed on the ship:
Positives: It starts with Zoltan shielding, and each crewmember is a living reactor upgrade.
Negatives: Awkward layout; fairly 'meh' starting weapons; any crew deaths = losing power; the starting levels of the systems are really low.
But, we got off to a strong start, with Sector 1 going exceptionally well! RNG couldn't give us enough stuff; and really good stuff too!
Getting a major beam upgrade in sector 2 made it an absolute cakewalk; sector 3 was pretty straightforward too.
But more than any attempt (and episode) so far, we had a real "cascade" moment, where FTL shows how it can just turn a great run around in a single encounter. And how the Zoltan ship seems to walk a bit of a knife edge...
...so much so, it got a dedicated 'cascade' timestamp!
Enjoy :D
